Oh to create a mosaic sphere, from shards of stained glass; fragmented and gathered, chosen and precious, translucent, transformed, fastened & framed. Out of destruction; lit from within, reflected outside, turning and turning, falling and rising. Church.
The unusual tracery in the Bishops eye window in Lincoln Cathedrsl resembles two leaves and was re- built in 1330. It contains randomly arranged fragments of medieval glass from windows smashed by Cromwell’s soldiers in 1644 . #StainedGlassSunday

Saw ‘The Tempest’ in the gardens of Downing College, Cambridge, last night. Fine production. Deeply disturbing to come face to face with Prospero’s #racism and #colonialism. Caliban was played brilliantly by a black actor and, in the text, is repeatedly called ‘monster’ by Trinculo and Stephano. 1/N
