Forecast exceeded again. River now at 21.02’ and rising faster than expected at Nora. Was not forecast to hit 20.9’ until after 2pm.
The gauge at Nora has already surpassed the forecast crest and is still rising. If you’re downstream, evacuate now. Do not wait until dusk. Forecast crest at Nora increased to 21.1 feet.
A historic flood is forcing central Indiana residents to evacuate as the White River rises. Indianapolis is bracing for the river to crest at 20 feet by 8 a.m. Saturday, following excessive rainfall. DETAILS: https://tinyurl.com/24w8kdrc
Keeping my old Indianapolis community in my thoughts today, I remember seeing those flood gates in Broad Ripple and wondering when they’d ever need to be used. The New Normal is here and it really sucks.
Crews are closing, or have closed, floodgates in various locations along the White River in Indianapolis. Here's a behind-the-scenes look at workers closing the floodgates at 67th and College near the Indianapolis Arts Center. (photos from DPW)
According to Hudl support “While we did support a public API structure in the past, we unfortunately do not have any public API integrations available to share at this time.” 😐 Cool awesome we’ll keep manually entering data in 5 systems every game. We’re small so that won’t matter to us right?
SID and athletics broadcast nerds, has anyone found available APIs for the HudlTV system? I’ve poked around in vCloud and found a few promising spots, but this is my first foray. Hoping to be able to create some helper scripts for scheduling and updating our broadcasts. #sportsvideo
Finally did it- passed my exam and earned my @avixa.bsky.social CTS certification! I’m glad I studied like I did, felt lots more confident going through the test than I was expecting. #avtweeps

here is what i think: we're not consumers or spectators, we are participants with agency. you should not hope that democrats will do anything. you must work to force them to do the right thing. the odds are long, but we are far from the first americans to face long odds. we will win.
you know, when someone says something like "these are the things that need to be done to avert disaster" and your response is "you think democrats will do that?!?" all you're telling me is that you think politics is a spectator sport

The Higher Ed AV Awards were tonight and Goshen College was well represented—Isaac was nominated for Rising Star of the Year, and our new Schertz PC Computer Lab project received two awards including a best of class! #InfoComm2026 #avtweeps #edtech #higheredav #HETMA
I do apologize for my sudden posting - I’m headed to Las Vegas for the week to attempt simultaneous conferences: HPE Discover (I’m backup network & infrastructure at work) and Infocomm (I’m primarily AV at work). Stay tuned for various musings. Or mute me for a bit, that works too. #avtweeps
Real ones know why I’m looking forward to breakfast this morning at ORD. Tortas Frontera has the best airport food, especially breakfast, hands down.
Heading to Vegas on Monday for a week of double conferences, gotta get the homestead in decent shape before I leave town. Nothing like mowing till it’s too dark to see with a tasty beverage.
In a way, AI allows everyone the experience of having a toddler. You carefully explain what you would like to happen, and then it does whatever it wants.
Somehow, I’m going to try to balance going to both the HPE Discover conference and Infocomm at the same time this year, so already overachieving a bit. The ONE paid session I’m doing at Infocomm is the @avsuperfriends.bsky.social “From Prompt to Project” AI workshop. Really looking forward to it!
AVSF is going to InfoComm 2026 and, shockingly, they’re letting us do several things with microphones. 🎙️ AI session. Live shows. Q-SYS game show. Show floor tour. Higher ed AV nonsense. Here’s the full hub: www.avsuperfriends.com/infocomm2026 #AVSF #InfoComm2026 #avtweeps #edtech #higheredav

amazing
These new Google Workspace icons rolling out are... not great. Especially in the browser tab bar in a very small size, they're *very* indistinct. Much bluh, very blobby. Not a good change @googleworkspace.bsky.social

A small, modest proposal to make vanilla macOS even more useful: The built-in TextEdit.app should default to plain text instead of rich text on new documents, and create Markdown syntax with the WYSIWYG formatting controls. Markdown rendering on by default. Support rich text as an option.

@globeradio.org this could make for a great question of the day! "If you need to make a big purchase (plane trips, TV, major event tickets), are you using your phone or a computer?"
Somebody said millennials usually use their laptops (instead of smartphones) for major purchases, including booking flights. I can’t stop thinking about this.

I hate how many of Goshen's crosswalk lights won't ever cycle green unless the beg button is pressed. I'd still want the button for pedestrians to trigger the cycle just like the car sensor, but why *not* give peds a green every cycle?? If it takes too long to cross, that's not the ped's fault!
I stand by my belief that one of the few appropriate uses of beg buttons for pedestrians and cyclists is on transit lines with signal priority. They are wholly unnecessary everywhere else and it should be automatic.
