Bluesky-High Sundae. He/Him.

Started up Super Mario Galaxy to show Dillon, the classic start with the festivities and everyone enjoying themselves. Bowser's airships start rolling in and I go "oh, who's that now?". Dillon responds in a sheepish voice ... "Is it Yoshi?"

This is great. If your game only uses colour to mark differences, then a universal symbol should be considered. Plain cubes might match to a clan or player or something within your game but with no connection to them other than colour, there should really be something more distinct there.

Thank you to @petewiss.bsky.social and the @decisionspace.bsky.social team for having me on their show! Had a really fun conversation about TOKC and, more broadly, what types of designs can cultivate dedicated and passionate player communities.

Today’s @decisionspace.bsky.social is an exhaustive deep dive into a game that I’ve been obsessed with since it arrived at my door: The Old King’s Crown by @theoldkingscrown.bsky.social . I was joined by @jaffles-gaming.bsky.social because she’s an TOKC expert! podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/d...
