something i learned at the xiv panel yesterday is that when you meet whomever from sqnx and give them a little trinket or wol sticker, those things often wind up in a special part of the sqnx office just for them, so that devs who don’t travel for events like fanfest can see and love them too. 🥺

me getting into drawing literally started with an office pen and a free notepad from a hotel. I started for real with a $2 sketchbook and a $10 pencil set from the art supply store. Just start drawing <3

Had the day off work, so I took the train out to have lunch with my partner by her office, and then brought my sketchbook to the Royal Botanical Gardens for the afternoon. <3

Haven't posted a lot of art lately, but I was really proud of this one. An FF14 venue (The Twisted Lotus) has been doing a "colour challenge", where each day for 11 days it's one of the colours of the pride flag, plus its meaning in both the flag and in the hanky code. Day 4 was black, loss, and SM.

I was a kid during the AIDS crisis, and as I was joining the queer and kink communities as a young adult, most of the elders who welcomed me had buried so many lovers and friends. We were taught grief and joy, loss and love. And most of my life I've been legislated against and the forces of darkness have done their best to stamp me--us--out. But, dammit, I'm still here.
