The worst form of “socialism” is subsidizing and bailing out the super wealthy as they grow wealthier - many not even paying taxes - at the expense of school lunches, and maintaining a modest safety net for the elderly, vulnerable, and sick.
Exactly. The intent is to take a sledgehammer to what used to be a reliably useful public tool and further poison the information ecosystem. Make it harder to access factual data, push the culture toward indifference or hostility toward truth.
