I'm gonna give a heads up to anyone who sees this or similar posts deer.social hasn't been maintained for over a year (github.com/a-viv-a/deer...) I personally use and highly recommend witchsky.app if you are looking for a social-app fork

If anyone is getting smacked with this - just use deer.social or another alternate client. Bsky is just an AT Protocol Client, and your Bsky account is an AT Protocol account - you can use your same Bsky account thru another AT Protocol Client, no migration or loss necessary. Could not be easier.

I used to recommend welovecolors… unfortunately I can no longer do so. They have also pushed out ads (that I won’t post here) that use cosplay pics that are either generated or modified by AI.

Apparently welovecolors is using AI now.... Highly disappointed, especially as they market to cosplayers. Granted, the body sock I bought from them recently will be the last thing I think I ever get from them. The quality was terrible, and it snagged worse than pantyhose. But AI is a last straw.

This kind of thing is so… baffling to me. It’s an algorithmic problem with Reddit but it’s also just frustrating that cosplay is seen as inherently sexual or a pipeline to pornography, AND held to a double standard that illustrated fanart isn’t.

A Reddit post banning cosplay posts from /r/ff7rebirth, stating: “Here at FF7Rebirth, we want this to be a safe space for all eyes. Therefore, no cosplay. To add some context. Many younger eyes view r/FF7Rebirth. The game is rated T for teen, so many eyes could end up landing here. Many of them being underage. To keep from any situations that lead to these younger eyes visiting any NSFW subs resulting from a "cosplay" post here. We have decided to not allow cosplay at all from this point forward. The game again is rated T for teen, not M for mature. There are plenty of other subreddits for content like this, we would like to keep this one a safe place for all eyes to talk about, learn, and educate one another about the FF7 Rebirth game. Thank you all for your understanding, our goal is for r/FF7Rebirth to be a safe place for all to discuss this amazing game we have all come to adore. You‘re not a better person or a bigger fan or whatever just because you don‘t draw/look at/enjoy nsfw. It‘s fine to not like it but the moral high ground some people put themselves on over this and looking down on people who enjoy nsfw calling them „degenerated“ etc. is just dumb as hell.

With the current censorship situation & the rise of puritanism I just want to say that one thing that‘s been really annoying me for years now is the growing number of people who act like you can‘t appreciate a character and their lore as much as „pure fans“ just because you draw nsfw of them.
