A few years ago I learned of Cape Penduline Tits and knew I had to illustrate them. I’m thinking of making a series of amazing animal architects, like beavers or coral. If you have any suggestions, I’d love to hear from you. Hope you enjoy learning about these creatures as much as I did!

Imagine seeing the night sky in a cave. But instead of stars, you’re actually seeing hundreds of insect larvae waiting for their next meal. Ever since I saw the New Zealand glowworms, they’ve been whirring around in my head. I just had to capture the magic of the caves!

I could watch the ocean for hours. By Punakaiki NZ the waves were surging with such force that the sea was covered in froth. Studying the water’s movement I was inspired to draw the different shapes of foam. Without realising I created this piece. Scroll through to see the inspiration.
