More context on this #Artemis II image: * This is the night side, lit by moonlight. You can see city lights in Spain & Portugal, & a sliver of day at lower right * The Sun is entirely behind Earth, which makes it a kind of solar eclipse, but w/ Earth doing the eclipsing instead of the Moon: ☀️🌍🚀🌕

A full disc image of Earth, as seen from the Orion Crew Module. The planet is a pale blue, swirling with white clouds and glowing slightly lighter blue in place from reflected light. At lower left, a large brown landmass is Africa, with Spain and Portugal with twinkling lights where the planet curves. At top right, auroras glow in a thin green glow, just barely separated from the planet's surface. Earth is set against the black of space (pic: NASA/R.Wiseman)

There are exactly two types of reviews I have seen for this movie: 1) oh f*ck yes, all of it, in my face, omnomnom 2) the f*ck is this and why did I willingly put my eye balls in front of it?!?! Second one of these I've seen this year actually! The other was "Wuthering Heights"

The Bride!: Jessie Buckley gets possessed by Mary Shelley (!), dies, and is reanimated as Christian Bale's bride-to-be in Maggie Gyllenhaal's disasterpiece, a stitch-together mess of tones and ideas with no centre. Goes from critique of misogyny and patriarchy, to Young Frankenstein references.

I have two trans partners. I remember when one of them was using the phrase "transwomen" early in our relationship and I pointed out "I've been told its trans-women" She looked at me for a second and said "that seems like a silly thing to get caught up on". Anyway, don't know why I thought of that

Cool, what about healthcare for trans youth? You've said nothing and done nothing for weeks.

Canadian here. I was in 10th grade, and on the day it happened we propped a CRT computer monitor on top of a Pentium 3 tower and watched MSNBC for a solid hour, until our internet crashed. After that, it never directly impacted my life outside of macro-scale geopolitics. No recruiters or anything

okay, so offshoot discourse — if you’re a millennial, how did your age play into how 9/11 impacted you in the afterwards? idk how i’d explain this to a 5 y/o. i was 15 & most of the school day was spent going from class to class watching the live coverage of people dying, knowing war is inevitable.
