I'd even say that maintaining expertise and tribal knowledge is a matter of company & industry survival. For example, manufacturing in the USA was largely offshored to China, leading to a lot of expertise being lost in the long run. Keep your engineers. Keep them happy. Pass on knowledge.

Keeping humans in the loop is the way to maximise the efficiency. Engineers with the right tooling can now investigate parts of a codebase that would previously have required a much larger effort. This is interesting. Unlike Google’s search results and product snippets, their AI summaries are now content they create themselves instead of pulling it from external websites. This makes them liable for the content which, since it’s AI, can be wildly incorrect. the-decoder.com/landmark-ger...
