Because it apparently needs to be said: I have never fucking used the AI/LLM/chatbot/plagiarism machine and I never fucking will. If you use it, I think you're a bad person.

Gram 3.2.0 tagged and released. Hopefully it works, the release was made while travelling. 3.1.0 didn’t compile for Windows, hence the version jump (but users of the deb/rpm repositories may have gotten the 3.1.0 release yesterday). gram-editor.com/posts/releas...

Toad Cook walks back on stage, confidently smiling and clasping his hands in a warm gesture of reassurance. "Just one more thing," he burps, pausing for dramatic effect. "We are proud to announce version 2.2.0 of Gram, the source code editor." gram-editor.com/posts/releas...

Just once I’d like to see journalists and politicians show at least a grain of scepticism about the claims being made by “AI” vendors. Just once. Just because anthropic styles their reports to look like scientific or academic papers doesn’t make them sound or credible.

i for one can safely touch the cursed amulet. it doesn't affect me, i have no mortal ambitions within myself to become corrupted by. in fact i find the power it confers very useful. i'm enjoying touching the amulet more & more as its influence waxes! it used to make me feel insane but now i love it

this was honestly such a fun event, there's always something special about the stockholm lites. being on the pc mostly involves being impressed at all the incredible submissions and then feeling smug when they become incredible talks, but what a privilege it is 💕
That’s a wrap on Code BEAM Lite Stockholm 2026! 🥂 Thank you to our speakers and attendees for an amazing day. Tomorrow, the learning continues with Robert Virding’s expert-led training sessions. Safe travels! 👋 #CodeBEAM #Erlang #Elixir #Gleamrun #Gleam #Gleamnews #Conference #Ericcson
This is amazing. First page of how to build worlds. "Games don't need REALISM with unnecessary details! That's just excessive. No, something simpler will suffice. Here we model air currents as they flow around a planet at various degrees from the equator..." 🥰 #worldbuilding #procgen

We are at the final session of Code BEAM Lite Stockholm. Barry O'Reilly is currently on stage delivering the closing keynote: "Residues: Time, Change and Uncertainty in Software Architecture." A thoughtful way to wrap up our day of learning. #CodeBEAM #SoftwareArchitecture

"But you can't deny that it's useful" is what I hear often when I criticize "AI". But that's not the argument because everything is useful to someone for some purpose usually at someone's cost. "Child labor" is _useful_. Question is: Do the uses bring more social value than the cost?
In actually good coding news, the first video from the Gleam Gathering is up on youtube now:

Gram 2.0 is out after a weekend of coding by hand like an animal gram-editor.com/posts/releas... Also, weird slug but guess what, I typed that myself with my human sausage fingers.

A class at my kids’ school put up little statements about the good they want to do in the world and I was over the moon about this one - then I learned they meant to say “teach people in jail” which is also good!
