Texas sage is our 'state shrub'. An evergreen in the figwort family (so not a true sage), it's also called the barometer bush. In the arid, rocky climates it prefers, rain is at a premium, so when the weather suggests rain (low barometric pressure, high humidity) it turns the flower dial to 110%.
