So sad to just hear about the passing of Nikki Wyrd. Fondest memories are of swimming with her and others in the lake next to Cae Mabon, at the foot of Snowdon, during an occult retreat where she spoke about Baphomet. Sad to have not seen her recently, and to never see her again.
Wonderfully outrageous and hilarious Bowie interview from '99. 'This is me STRAIGHT, buddy! You're lucky you didn't know me twenty-five years ago.'

The video of Prince's appearance in a live cover of The Beatles' 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' is rightly lauded. But I'd forgotten how amazing this live cover by him of 'Come Together' is. youtu.be/6uZepPifI4g?...

Was trying to think of how I got into Reich. Probably via Burroughs. The Reichian hinting of the 'orgasmatron' in Woody Allen's film Sleeper was probably invisible to me until later. Anyway, this reminded me of my fancy dress for the party at the end of the first term of my film & drama degree.
Excited by my old mate Dan Lowe kicking off a Substack of his thinking on Reich. We met over 30 years ago when we were both diving into Reich. I still see the Reich-influenced therapist Dan recommended. But Reich has faded in my reading. Time for a return. pulsation1.substack.com
Pulsation: Exploring the work of Wilhelm Reich | Dan Lowe | Substack
Wilhelm Reich was an anti-facist, a pioneering body psychotherapist, and scientific maverick. His work wove together the body, breath and psychotherapy with a new conception of energy. This Substack i...

'Art has never been a celebration of humanity, but always an exploration of those borderlands where the human ends and something else begins. This applies even to art dealing with seemingly human ideas, feelings and things.' Nice essay from JF Martel of Weird Studies...

Been thinking things over and wonder if I've taken this whole longevity thing too far.

Alt: Lifeforce: a corpse drains the life force (sic) from the pathologist who was doing his autopsy. Sadly, they didn't gave a gif of Mathilda May in the nude.

GANDHAAARA GANDHAAAAARA THEY SAY IT WAS IN IIINDIAA Bet you can hear it now, can’t you?
There's a YouTube reaction to a video from an old act the presenter's never encountered before - verbally introduced as 'a group' called 'MC 900, featuring Jesus'.
Just enjoyed digging up an old scrapbook of mine, with gig tickets from the end of the '80s.
Listening to a McKenna lecture on alchemy, was amused by his mention of John Dee's wife, Anne. Her married name struck me as funnily masculine-sounding. Well, turns out 'Andy' only arose in the 1920s. And McKenna's wrong, her name was Jane. Ah well, seems there's someone else to realise the joke.

Bill Oddie, what a lovely bloke. He wrote us a letter when we started making The Young Ones, wishing us the very best, and warning us against interference from higher up. He didn’t know anyone in the cast personally. It just came out of the blue. Lovely thing to do.
The disc is Citizen Kane, but Nolan saying 'I love the packaging, it says it all' said even more to me.

Been pretty much blind to Fishbone's activity this century. Had no idea they're currently still touring and releasing, with this great anti-Trump single last year. JFC! Guess what RPOS stands for... youtu.be/fOf7-riDwDM?...

So nice to revisit the wondrous Icelandic album this is from. I have the English version too, but I (apparently wrongly) thought the Icelandic version was primary. This track in English is 'The Land Between Solar Systems' - but my lack of Icelandic makes this version even further out.

While living in Walthamstow for a few years, over 20 years ago, I had my only adult revival of a childhood 'fish & chips on Friday' thing. It was thanks to a great little shop really close by. Amazed last night, after some Walthamstow drinking, to see some recent Banksy graffiti on the chippie.
