Goodbye File Browser, for Real This Time

Yesterday, I published the last planned release of File Browser. It includes a few security fixes and a notice about the wind-down of the project. Alongside it, I announced that this was the last planned release and updated the repository so that it's ready to be archived on September 1st. For many people this came as a surprise. For those who've been following the project from close by, probably not. Either way, I wanted to write a bit about the decision and how we got to this point.

The Portuguese Bakery in Utrecht

As someone living in a foreign country, it's always interesting to me to find places where I can buy food from my own country. Over the past few years, I haven't found that many places in the Netherlands that sell Portuguese food. There's a shop here and there, a café or restaurant here and there, but none of them are in Eindhoven, or in a place I usually come by.

Completing the Zwem4daagse

A few hours ago, I completed my first edition of the Zwem4daagse, which is a yearly even here in The Netherlands where you swim a certain distance for four days. After swimming 500 meters four days, I am now a proud owner of a cute little medal!

Bolo de Cenoura

Bolo de Cenoura is a delicious carrot cake covered in chocolate ganache, and it is one of my favorite cakes ever. It is very different from what people in most countries consider a carrot cake. The Portuguese version seems to be inspired by the Brazilian version, which, in turn, seems inspired in the American version of this cake.
