this is an interesting interview and if i were clipping it for social media i would have excerpted "We're still a place where we don't downrank links. We love sending traffic to people. We send two million clicks a day to publishers" rather than the part that'll just piss people off lol

Bluesky's new CEO Toni Schneider on the platform's reputation for being a liberal bubble: "Yes, we definitely want that to change. It is already changing. It certainly wasn’t designed to attract one specific group of people."

there's a better explanation somewhere in some thread but basically they can't tell which bluesky verified users arent verifiers so anyone verified could be a verifier

I admire so much how @toni.bsky.team is out there in the comments, learning and speaking honestly, and without the media training BS, doing us all a service. This is leadership done right, and it fills me with confidence about the future of the #atmosphere 🌀 Bualadh bos 👏

Good point. No algos resonates with people but is too simplistic and not accurate. I need to find a better way to communicate the reality. No lock-in is more important IMO.

Our CEO @row1.ca joined the Data Engineering Podcast to talk about why science has outgrown the paper and what it will take to fix it. Data, code, narrative - brought together all the way through to publication. It's a hard problem and it's exactly what our team is solving. Worth a listen 👇
