Naturally I was asleep for all of the penalties drama last night and early morning. A German friend passed me in his van, stopped and gave me a lift to the lido and he was asleep through the game too. Not seen any Dutch people yet, but it is only 6am.
My own World Cup warm up ended in a predictable sloping off to bed 10pm. Not sure I’ll see that much of the tournament, early mornings are so much better than late nights.
It seems very wring when Serie A releases fixtures in early June. I'm pining a little for the days of not even knowing whjen the season would start, let alone when the fixtures would come out. Back then Italia qualified for World Cups too.
