"Look at those polls - it's gonna be ok, I don't need to vote." YES. YOU. DO. 😤 Go vote. Please. ❤️

The last time I re-painted a textured ceiling was 1999. I did so again today and it still sucks.

#SelfPromotionSaturday A lot of people use this hashtag to promote their #TTRPG products, which is great, but a lot of people work to make those products complete. Like proofreaders and editors. (continued)

How could I do #MovieADay in October without ending with Halloween? This does break my rule of only posting about movies I've seen, though. I haven't seen the original. I watched the sequel (or part of it) on HBO as a kid. #Cinema #Movies #Film

#WordWeavers Oct. 31: What is something your MC would forgive almost anyone else for but could never forgive themselves for? #ZackJackson's having trouble forgiving himself for the harm others have suffered as a result of his actions. #Books #Writing #WritersOfBluesky #WritingCommunity

#WritersCoffeeClub Oct. 31: How did this month's writing go for you? Better than last month. "Forgotten Dreams" is in the final stages of audiobook prep, and "The Pleasure Pools of Persiphia" is ready for it's final edit. #Writing #WritersOfBluesky #WritingCommunity

Polls arent votes. VOTE!

Steve Kenson ❌👑@stevekenson.com · 2d ago

Keep in mind a lot of the polling may lean more Democratic simply because Democratic voters are more inclined to talk about their plans while Republicans aren’t picking up the phone or responding honestly, if at all. In short: Don’t get overconfident. VOTE!

ICE & DHS are domestic terrorists & must be treated as such.

ACLU@aclu.org · 3d ago

After observers lawfully filmed ICE in a public parking lot, the agents followed their car, boxed them in, and slashed their tire in retaliation. The observers bravely caught the whole thing on video.

This is why I keep repeating “Abolish ICE. Fire them all. Prosecute their crimes”. Because people are going to forget, or gloss over what they did and be susceptible to bringing them back. You need a solid five years of news stories every single day of “Another trial of another ICE psychopath.”

do not funnel your grief over this death into trek and x-men merch, paramount & disney dont need your money. go to plays, give to charities, vote for candidates who will fund public art, and you will make it possible for people like patrick stewart to exist and keep existing. a rising tide lifts all

Jessica Ritchey@jmritchey.bsky.social · 2d ago

If you want more Patrick Stewarts, then you publicly fund the arts and learning programs, so that working class kids can find their way into making a career in them.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is a decent addition to the franchise, though I feel like it isn't as memorable as some of the other films. Mckenna Grace is still the absolute standout in the cast and William Atherton hasn't lost his ability to be a really slimy POS. #MovieADay #Cinema #Movies #Film

#WordWeavers Oct. 30: What tiny detail about your world or character will probably never matter to the plot, but you created it anyway? Most of the actual science I mention in #ZackJackson is there to show that I did the work. (continued) #Books #Writing #WritersOfBluesky #WritingCommunity

#WritersCoffeeClub Oct. 30: How does your work immortalise those who came before you? I can only think of this in a literal sense: my biggest influences and supporters are mentioned on the dedication page. #Books #Writing #WritersOfBluesky #WritingCommunity

I know I saw Silent Night, Deadly Nights (1984) at the base theater when I was living in Germany. And that's all I remember about it. It is a horror movie I definitely saw. A ringing endorsement, huh? :D #MovieADay #Cinema #Movies #Film

#WordWeavers Oct. 29: Which character would you trust to take care of your pet for a week? Which character would be banned from coming anywhere near it? Jenny is clearly the most responsible of the main characters in the #ZackJackson books. #Books #Writing #WritersOfBluesky #WritingCommunity

#WritersCoffeeClub Oct. 29: Pass along a book which came with a personal recommendation. Folks rarely recommend books to me, but one that was recommended recently that I really enjoyed was Dungeon Crawler Carl. buff.ly/w7paE5n #Writing #WritersOfBluesky #WritingCommunity

Did Hocus Pocus 2 need to be made? No. But when has that stopped Hollywood from a decades-later nostalgia sequel? It's a cute movie and has funny bits. It you don't like the first one, this won't change your mind. #MovieADay #Cinema #Movies #Film

#WordWeavers Oct. 28: Your antagonist and MC are forced to work together toward the same goal. What could drive them together? The only thing that would get the antagonist to work with #ZackJackson is mutually assured destruction if they do not. #Books #Writing #WritersOfBluesky #WritingCommunity

#WritersCoffeeClub Oct. 28: Do you hide 'secrets' in your works? Sure, if you mean in-jokes and references that only I'll get. I do it mostly to amuse myself. Most of the time, they even survive editing. #Books #Writing #WritersOfBluesky #WritingCommunity

I don't remember much about it, but I do remember, after watching A Nightmare on Elm Street 4, thinking "This is it. This is the last of this series." I was wrong, but for me, this was the last of them. Like I said, not really a horror fan. Less so as I get older. #MovieADay #Cinema #Movies #Film

#WordWeavers Oct. 27: What location in your story would you most like to visit? What location would you absolutely avoid? In the World of Calliome, I would like to visit Vlorey or Muncifer, but I'd avoid the Western Wastes. #Books #Writing #WritersOfBluesky #WritingCommunity

#WritersCoffeeClub Oct. 27: As a writer, what do you need right now? Calm, anxiety and anger-free days, and a belief that things will be okay. #Writing #WritersOfBluesky #WritingCommunity

At the time, I feel like The Others was regarded as a knock-off of The Sixth Sense. I didn't get that sense watching it, but who knows? I don't plan on watching it again. I saw it. I guess I enjoyed it, but I don't want to revisit it. #MovieADay #Cinema #Movies

What is the point of a "Keep me logged in" or "Remember me" toggle if it fails to do that and I have to log back in every day?

#WordWeavers Oct. 26: Share a moment from your WIP when a character says one thing but means something completely different? Once again: I have not written far enough in my current WIP to be able to do this. #Books #Writing #WritersOfBluesky #WritingCommunity
