Another long day of work ahead of me, so I took a second to finish a draft with layout of my one page RPG "Run the Set"! I...think I love this little game. Here it is in trifold form:

This is one of those features of PF2e that makes it feel very distinct from other d20 games. It opens up tiered success/failure, it allows an organic feeling of player power as you level ( you naturally crit lower level things easier), and allows to minimize "Save or Suck" spells.

Pathfinder 2e’s +/-10 crit system is such a natural fit for the d20 that it’s wild that we’ve been rolling a d20 for so long without it. It allows the use of the entire range. You might just need a 4 to succeed, but the roll can still be interesting because sometimes it’s really important to crit.

For the morning crew, last night's prelim work on "Run the Set", my "place-making" love letter to small local FGC scenes. You make up characters and use actual fighting games to determine your results. Set up so you can run it like a fictional "weekly".

Long day of work, but still managed to do a little work on "Run the Set". It's coming out pretty cool, I think! Also, I cannot wait to drag my other friends into this one with me lol

Ok, I know what my one page rpg jam is going to be this year. "Run the Set," a place-making ttrpg about a weekly fgc scene. 1-4 players, you take on the roles of TOs and players at a venue, and you play fighting games to determine what happens to the characters each week.

There are at least *three* right-wing text-based social media sites, one owned by The Actual President, another by the richest man in history, and all of which openly foster white supremacy. But those are not the ones every op-ed page in the western world is sneering about

Brain: happy Birthday! Me: Happy Birthday! Brain: "The Weekly", a solo/group place-making game about a place where you hold weekly fighting game tournaments. You play sets if an actual fighting game to help determine your character's tourney results. Me: ngl, I love that. Brain: Happy Birthday!!!

Thank you to everyone sharing & donating! I'm now at 25% of my goal (to cover August rent, COBRA, meds, other essentials). Trying to job search during Gen Con season is rough. I truly don't expect responses anytime soon, since everyone is traveling and busy. Today: Gotta Uber to a doc appointment.

Very pumped to see Absalom Station! I wrote a bunch of stuff for this: - Aspis Consortium faction - corporate items and augmentation (my fave item, data mines, one tine use hacking devices) - Jatembe Park (I looooved working on this) - corporate agents/enemies

I had a great time yesterday gaming. My playtest of Chimera was actually really cool. The game sits in this apex of roleplay and skirmish and roguelike, all while letting me pull out my coolest minis and playing with friends...

Had a dope day playing games with friends. Chimera (polymorph tactical extraction ttrpg i was playtesting) was pretty solid and also got to play games from my friends and have a ton of great convos! Very lucky to have so many awesome folks around me.
