TW: CSAM and IRL pedophilia, child abuse / exploitation / trauma a clearer summary re: the news about individuals in the xiv community who distributed CSAM. i hope this and the list of the offenders helps folks who want to protect themselves without reading more potentially triggering material.

09/18/26: XIV modders and CSAM briefest possible summary: a group of people who were in the XIV community were found to be discussing sharing illegal CSAM in a Matrix group (while the CSAM in question was distributed via another program called Session). this case involves actual verifiable CSAM, not the mistaken conflation of artwork or 3DCG modded material for abuse material. an informant reported the group and has now shared the accounts of the participants actively discussing CSAM. the leader of the abuse group, Regena, advertised their Matrix group on a Mastodon instance post in early july of this year. Discord was not involved. currently the claim that this occurred or began in the XIV Kitten modding Discord does not have any evidence, and appears to be misinformation from the most notable post of the day mentioned below. this news first gained notice from a twt/X post this morning, 09/18/2026 by Geneva Abrichter (@DoctorAbrichter), which flat-out misinformed everyone about the actual abusers in question and which the account later apologized for (see https://x.com/DoctorAbrichter/status/2100989548255985771). given their track record i would not trust them for additional information about this case. the user Chuuni Doll created their disclosure/PSA video about the topic on 09/12/2026, several days prior (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KlvUMsU_d-A). it summarizes the full details and evidence logs from the proton doc, and contains disturbing chat log snippets (albeit censored ones since it is on YouTube). the actual primary source of the information was an informer going by Kurumi who had brief access to the chat group. their screencaps and logs were collected in the video and full proton doc posted by Chuuni Doll. the doc also includes the proof to connect the Matrix group IDs of individuals like @xivbestiary to their main account, Noffletoff/Noff.Table of "Super Secret Channel" Room Members and their user handles in Matrix (All members were invited to the room by Regena (@regena)): - Regena (@regena): xiv: Ertran Dalmasca, aethy @Regena (deleted), baraag @Regena (deleted) - Nav (@van) - @mephidross: omitted (was kicked before CSAM discussions took place) - kitt: xiv: Rayne Araya, aethy @Kitt (deleted) - honeysuckle: xiv: Honey Sundae, aethy @honeysuckle (deleted) - bestestestpuppy: omitted due to a lack of chat log evidence - BHLala (@toastdamoast): aethy @BlueHairLala (deleted) - astralsight: xiv: Night Astra, aethy @astralseeing (deleted) - Nibbles (@xivbestiary): xiv: Doctor Noffletoff, xivbestiary.fanbox.cc, baraag @DocNoff - Kurumi (informant): omitted (was present for CSAM discussions, left soon after, and eventually informed others about the group and shared messages with the matrix service admins) - Iruru (@iruru): aethy @iruru - @depopola: omitted (no evidence that they witnessed any CSAM discussions + plausible and verified explanation for being invited to the room) - @duckyychan: omitted (no evidence that they witnessed any CSAM discussions) - @milly-e: omitted (provided their own set of message keys that prove they did not witness any CSAM discussions) - @rindeboy: omitted (no evidence that they witnessed any CSAM discussions) All remaining members were kicked at around 2026-08-17 22:22:00, around the same time Regena posted a warning claiming that the informant was "going around accusing other people of being into CSAM".
