There are two wolves. One always lies. One controls the lever of trolley track. They're in a state of superposition inside a box. On the trolley are infinite monkeys at infinite typewriters going to an infinite hotel. The trolley must first travel halfway, but before that a quarterway, and so on...

going to university to mess around with computers pfp by @giacomocavalieri.me
The more I work in the @gleam.run compiler, the more impressed I am with all of the existing work it does. There is a lot of interesting stuff that goes into compiling pattern matching into efficient JavaScript.

I had to go find it to check on the ratio and it's even better 🤌🏻🍿
Anyway I do think it’s cool to build a computer program that tells you to go to hell when you try to use it for your racist blog post
real person on the bus "do you want a ham sandwich?" "no" "I swear it has no cocaine in it!" WHAT
Going to take a stab at this with my friends. Can't wait!
i'm running a programming contest next week! we've spent the last few months thinking about how to make a fun contest in a world with agents. I think we've got a good answer :) Starts next friday. Give it a try! and mutuals dm if you wanna test or chat about this
what has happened to the @bitwarden.bsky.social Firefox extension? it has slowed down to the point where every interaction(key presses, navigation, etc.) makes me wait a second or two before it responds. signing in and autofill is still fine, thankfully.
The fundamental thing that affects engineering quality is labor bargaining power, not technology. You can give engineers the best possible tools (or agentic coding models) but no amount of technology can protect against management pressure to cut corners
LSP code actions but via drag and drop, that's actually so cool!
all will become fidgetable

I have a cold and I went into my run fully expecting to feel terrible but I actually hit a 5k PR 😎
Fix your hearts or die. You know how many of us joke that Pride month should be followed by Wrath? This year I feel a deep, burning fury towards all who use transgender lives as political propaganda. We are human beings. You cannot erase us. Happy Pride. Trans liberation at any cost. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
Inviting controversy with this take, which is outside of my comfort zone, but I do stand by it. You can generate good quality code with LLMs, it “just” requires a tonne of human oversight and automated guard rails. Got a week off then I’ll be building my first proper post with webernetes. Stoked.
Our own @samwho.dev ported Kubernetes to the browser. Like a real flippin' cluster with lifecycles, DNS, and a simulated network. It's ~100k lines of TypeScript, almost all written by LLMs, but with every line reviewed by hand to keep it slop-free ↓ ngrok.com/blog/i-porte...
Low-key one of the worse effects of social media is making us all feel like we should have opinions about absolutely everything.
I love being trans despite everything the world throws at us, and I love being a woman. Happy Pride. #blog #trans #pride

babe wake up, a new HTTP verb just dropped www.rfc-editor.org/info/rfc10008/
this has ruined me. at least once a week at work the words "light work for a beast like me" resonate through my skull with the power of a thousand thunderclaps
my employer has asked me to stop responding to requests with “light work for a beast like me”
I listened to this on the bus the other day and it sounded like such a good time! I absolutely have to find the time to attend next year.

Sometimes art is so breathtaking and poignant it defies all expectation
I had to replace my iPhone mini 13 with an iPhone 17 today and I hate it and it reminded me of the art that said something like “I showed my iPhone 5 to my dog and he said phones never needed to be bigger than this. You have turned our home in the stars into a grave.” Pic from my new iPhone 17
Visited the docs site for Redis, the "Context Engine for my AI Apps" today. The browser tab used 1 GB of RAM, the site was not properly responsive on narrow viewports, and switching between languages in the example snippets made the page hang for 5 seconds each time. Baffling.
Wild to see every VC funded and publicly traded tech company rebrand to being an AI company Paging company —> the platform for AI-first operations CDN —> AI Cloud Helpdesk software —> AI-powered helpdesk platform o11y —> AI-powered intelligent o11y Everywhere…
