OMG they called it with less than 50% of the votes in! That's how bad voters rejected this flagrant attempt to buy the judges to overturn the last vote! Hahahahahahahaha love you, Kansas. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/04/u...
Kansas Voters Crush a Measure to Elect Supreme Court Judges (Gift Article)
The rejection of a measure to begin electing justices was a victory for abortion rights groups who defended the Kansas high court’s ruling that abortion was protected in the state constitution.

Cool, looks like one of my biggest links last month was a slop spam onlyfans link. 🙃 Problem's been fixed, but again: delete your old DNS records, kids. Don't let any version of your domain *ever* go to something you don't control.
PSA: delete old DNS records you're not using. I had an old subdomain still pointed to DigitalOcean from some dead project. Apparently when the IP got reused, a hacker got it, and was able to use it to publish content on my subdomain to steal SEO. They were even able to set up Google Search Console.
Name an utterly inconsequential hill you'll die on: There are too many different kinds of stars in Mario games.
There's a point where a behavior is *so* rude it starts to veer into sociopathic/amoral territory, but isn't quite serious enough that it's technically criminal just yet, and it is my personal belief that asking someone to read something you had AI generate for you falls squarely into that range.
"But my nostalgia! But my favorite morning word game! But this mid video game! But my sport! But my chicken sandwich!" Hey, real quick, what ARE you willing to give up to not support our oppressors?
Any sufficiently advanced capitalism is indistinguishable from a pyramid scheme.
EA’s CEO got an $8 million raise thanks to how well Battlefield 6 performed — four months after the devs responsible for making the game got laid off. https://t.co/KZKhVBOL6O
The decision to remove the dot over the "I" in the Widow's Bay logo is a master stroke and I just wanted to call that out.
I had to go find it to check on the ratio and it's even better 🤌🏻🍿
If I’m keeping score correctly, so far the AI revolution has given me: - considerably worse software than before - considerably more expensive devices to run that software - considerably less opportunity to make the money needed to buy those devices
I was already on team "Never Buying Another Samsung Device Again," but using my fridge's smartphone app to send me push notification ads really sealed the deal.

Train. The band, AKA, the group of miserable, irredeemable bastards who, among many other noteworthy crimes against both art and humanity, actually had the gall, the indecency, the utter disrespect for God, to record the insufferable abomination known as "Hey, Soul Sister."
What is an extremely nerdy/obscure/specific thing you hate with a white-hot wrath?
And "How Many Dudes?" is now out! Exactly ONE YEAR TO THE DAY since we started working on it, and it's shaping up to be our biggest launch ever. Thanks so much to everyone who helped with this project. It was sooooo much fun to work on.

Oh boy, a boss fight! I sure hope everything pauses for a second while it shows his name and he makes a loud, threatening noise.

🦦🪣 Four years ago in #Califorina, this pup was rescued after becoming tangled in a discarded fishing net. Thanks to quick-thinking biologists - Frankie Gerraty (📸 photo credit), Heather Coletti, Jim Bodkin, and George Esslinger - he was safely reunited with his mom.
I don't know who needs to hear this, but: just start the dishwasher now. You won't remember to later. (It's probably me.)
I don't know where we went wrong, but I just got a text asking me to leave a review for my urologist, and that just isn't a sentence anyone should ever be able to say.
We as a society need to view successful people less as deserving and destined recipients, and more as the random lucky chumps who just happened to get the insane Balatro run IRL.
I've been saying ever since I worked at Shopify that Tobi is a mini Musk on a time delay. I've seen nothing in the three years since to make me think I was wrong. I can still picture him dismissively explaining this away like everyone who objects to it is just too small-minded to understand.
Very cool that Shopify’s CEO thinks the poor should have far less of a vote than the rich. Still worth that ad read money, folks?
I am my most ninja-like when my wife is still sleeping peacefully on weekend mornings, as I try to soundlessly slip out of the bedroom. While, on the rare occasions that I get to sleep in, she manages to leave the room with all the quiet grace of a 1970s Led Zeppelin hotel visit.
Nobody ever explained to me what a passkey is or how they work. Websites just started asking me for passkeys like it's something we talked about.
To install a PWA on iOS, you have to: - Navigate to the site - Open the menu - Click "share" (wtf!?) - Click the SECOND "more" ellipsis icon (not the first!) - Click "add to home screen" - Click the "Add" button This is, to me, unacceptably byzantine. Just deliberately hostile on Apple's part.
It was subtle at first; a mention of starter packs here and there, calling posts "skeets." Then suddenly, ChatGPT joined the DSA, Copilot began requesting furry fanart in all PR reviews, Claude came out as trans, and Gemini wouldn't stop generating images of Alf's massive hog.
It's safe to assume that all major LLMs are scraping Bluesky data to train future models. As an open protocol, Bluesky is one of the few sources of fresh human-generated content that anybody can gobble up. So all this is probably going in the models. There are submarines in the Great Lakes.
Just finished 100%ing Balatro for the second time (Switch 2 version and Switch 1 version). AMA.
