He's from East Nashville, a historically Black community that has rapidly gentrified over the last 2 decades and lost many of its Black residents
Grassroots resistance to these top-down draconian bans are what is going to lead to overturning them. Many of these trans athletes have built communities with their team members and these teams don't want to be told they can no longer play with their friends.

I swear there’s a part of I-81 where, not long after entering the US, within a few minutes through a dizzying number of town signs including driving in and out of “Town of Parish” twice and briefly through “Town of Mexico” and every time I thought I was entering a damn fugue state.
