Rene Russo and Geena Davis would have both made for great big screen versions of Poison Ivy if they had continued the Keaton Batman movies #HATM

Yeah, the male gaze is kind of off the charts with filming her . #HATM

 A movie trope that seemingly persists to this day when it comes to strong female characters. They can demonstrate expertise in their field, and be the intellectual equal, if not superior to the male lead .  But eventually, they fall for him in a fairy tale fashion. #HATM

I just now noticed that Thomas Crown’s approach is to engage in intelligent and somewhat competitive conversation with the woman, whereas the other men just start hit on her with conventional methods. #HATM

I think it was language and nudity and brief sexuality that got this an R rating.  This could easily have been a PG-13. #HATM

I love the poetic irony of the woman who played the original insurance agent smiling at Thomas Crown realizing he’s found a worthy adversary . #HATM

 I was about to say that they would never make a movie with such practical effects and stunts like this today, then realized there’s a remake coming out in a few few months. #HATM

 Renée Russo’s character in this movie is basically a very intelligent and capable woman, but because of the time period which this was made, she’s definitely being shot through a male gaze .  And it looks like the new one is going to do that one with the character as well. #HATM

Pepsi one! I remember when they were handing out free samples of that my senior year of college around Campus. #HATM

 I love how she made the German seem both sensual yet dangerous. #HATM

I like how she immediately is basically telling Leary “you got no chance“ #HATM

I remember when this movie was released a big deal was made about Rene Russo looking so sexy for her age .  Hardly any of it mention the fact that she was also playing an intelligent woman which is what Crown found attractive. #HATM

Denis Leary ! Definitely a 90s flick! #HATM

A regular square television. This is definitely a movie being history. #HATM

I know there was chaos, but I find it a bit hard to believe nobody would notice a man sliding underneath the door like that. #HATM

While not very light hearted, one of my favorite heist/action sequences in a movie is the bank robbery at the beginning of The Dark Knight #HATM

I’m now remembering that this movie did have a pretty good musical score. #HATM

It just now occurred to me that it’s been close to 30 years since I’ve seen this movie and I’m probably gonna have to pay attention. Both love and hate it when that happens. #HATM

 This movie was both shot and released at the height of Brosnan‘s run as James Bond. Well, those were obviously more successful commercially, they didn’t really give Bron a chance to show off the full extent of his charming talent as he kind of had to operate within the “Bond rubric “. #HATM

 I actually saw this movie theatrically about four weeks after it opened.  it wasn’t a mega hit, but it had enough legs to stick around the area where I was seeing it apparently. #HATM

 John McTernan had two movies come out in the summer of 1999. This one, then three weeks later the 13th warrior. Interestingly, 13th Warrior was shot about 2/12 years before this one . #HATM
