Cooler than average days this summer have just completely died out, even in our hottest summers we do get odd day here and there interspersed. We are coming up 2 months since last daily max temperature was 1C below average in London on already warmer baseline. Freakishly warm period.

Leaders of flag-raising group Raise the Colours Oxfordshire placed trackers on highway workers’ cars to find out their home addresses, the High Court has heard. RTC then attempted to intimidate the highway staff into no longer removing flags by repeating their addresses to them.

We are in the third drought in five years. We have the National Trust and NFU - those radical types - sounding the alarm on unprecedented temperatures. But so little from any single figure in politics talking about the climate crisis.

An exceptional Aurora Orchestra performance of Mahler's 1st at #BBCProms this evening. Great to have a theatrical explainer as the first half. Would love to see more things like that to make classical musical accessible. The Listening Service is much missed.
