Last weekend, I emailed @birdlifemalta.bsky.social about this presumed fem. Moussier's I had found after seeing an article that one was on the West Coast of the mainland - Turns out the bird I had was there earlier this winter Very chuffed with the find! (I didn't know so my best self found yet!!)

The Hickling Black- winged Kite was pretty reliable over the Brograve Levels throughout most of January. I managed to catch up with it on a rare sunny day in January

After further discussion, the conclusion has been reached that the Redstart is a Common Redstart, meaning that I have found Europe's first Common Redstart of the year! Pretty chuffed. Bird was at Migra I-Ferha, Malta on Monday evening @birdlifemalta.bsky.social @britishnatureguide.bsky.social

A nice afternoon in Glasgow seeing some of the wintering wildfowl. The drake Ring-necked Duck showed fantastically on Queen’s Park boating pond. The drake American Wigeon was more difficult to locate but eventually showed at Newshot Island. Also Scaup, LTD and Shoveler there. #BirdingScotland

Chose to try for the Black-winged Kite at Ludham on 4th, albeit in the cold. Great to compensate on a dip of the kite with self found Jack Snipe, Bewick's Swans, a Cattle Egret and plenty of Mallards! Ended with 6 lifers and a few UK ticks, putting me on 180 for UK Life! #birdsseenin2026 #ukbirding
