I don’t think I have heard a speech like this in the UK for a while. Let’s see what happens now, seems the word “imagine” is going to be key for Andy Burnham as he ended on.

@lewisgoodall.com did what he had to do, shows how thin skinned and unfit these two are! Shame to see what took place in my city, but credit for the journalism. And of the day if anybody enters politics, they have to be scrutinized, it does feel populism has a very thin skin!

"Mainstream politicians – from Starmer down – have little to say, and in that vacuum, we see Akhmed Yaqoob." Lewis Goodall clashes with a controversial Birmingham campaigner. Is the city a 'microcosm' for the state of UK politics? www.thenewsagents.co.uk/article/bann...

It does feel those on the right of @labouruk.bsky.social are still deluded and not understanding what is happening to them that they see those on the left as the enemy tps://www.theguardian.com/politics/2026/may/06/andy-burnham-labour-anger-appearance-greens-change-now?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other

Zack Polanski really touched a nerve with Ed Balls here. And he was quite right; how can Balls possibly be seen to be politically neutral?

Well done to @zackpolanski.bsky.social for calling out the fact he was being interviewed by a former Lab minister & husband of the current foreign secretary #GMB is now produced by @itvnews.bsky.social. How can they think this is tenable? Oh & Ed took it in good grace (not)
