You can/should read Emily Wilson's latest take on the Odyssey, but I'm logging on to convey my hairdresser's reaction. She was AGHAST that Nolan, with his million $ budget, gave Matt Damon ONLY 6 hair extensions. As a result, his hair did not blow around properly, & that ruined the film for her.

Robert Saunders@robertsaunders.bsky.social · 3d agoI was struck by a piece on Radio 4 the other day, asking whether Burnham would be more "pragmatic" - meaning "positive" - about drilling in the North Sea. It was simply taken for granted that drilling was the "pragmatic" option, while opposing it was dogmatic or ideological.
Disappointed that Burnham is not setting the narrative for net-zero to be the only sensible option in any conversation. He needs to mark his territory whilst riding the good will wave.

Recognise that I am late to this* but here is my review of The Odyssey: you don’t need to have in-depth knowledge of Homer to enjoy it, Matt Damon’s beard will guide you through the flashbacks, so entertaining that I didn’t even need to go to the loo in the middle! *we live in the sticks
