Many events have been developed to celebrate this anniversary, including exhibiting the Bayeux Tapestry in London for the first time. This millennial celebration provides an ideal opportunity to evaluate the Normans. Charles Homer Haskins was foundational in what we think about the Normans. How has our understanding of the Normans changed or evolved since Haskinsโ€™ time? What has remained consistent? What new methodologies have been employed? What areas have been examined that Haskins didnโ€™t consider?
