With the notable exception of the Star Trek franchise, every show or movie about the future seems to always depicts a decided dystopian vision of the future. What other shows or movies can you think of that depict a “topian” version of earth and the future of the human race?

If I was an MLS GM, some of my rules would be: don’t sign or re-sign any player who ever experienced a non-contact acl or mcl injury. Ditto for any player who has had 2 or more reconstructive knee surgeries. Ditto for any player who has been injured for 25% of a season more than once.

I bought a new 26” electric hedge trimmer and dang! It absolutely blows away the 18” electric one I’ve been using for the last decade. Doing what used to take an hour in about 10-15 minutes much straighter and don’t need a stepladder for the high and deep parts anymore, which is also safer/ faster

Every couple of days I think of the awesome and dynamic soccer coaching community on Twitter that withered and died when Twitter became X(crement). I miss those interactions. Even the pro/rel and “what if our best athletes….” Arguments. I wish we all could have re-formed here or somewhere else

So what exactly was the appeal supposed to be for FIFA to give up control of the World Cup? It’s like “hey you’ve got a device that will turn rocks into gold from now until the end of time? I’ll give you a million dollars for it!”

We live in a world of reboots and remakes. But what real or fictional story that’s never been adapted to a Hollywood Movie would you like to see (done well!) on the silver screen? For me it’s 1) Jack Kirby’s 70’s DC Comic Kamandi (fictional) 2) The story of Finnish Sniper Simo Häyhä (real)
