Priest in the CofE, theological educator and supporting ministry in four rural churches. I love theatre, good books, long walks by the sea and am looked after by my bossy cat.

And with that the final ever LMT study day is done . It has been a privilege to teach and lead on this programme for the last four years and to see the wonderful groups of people who have gone onto amazing ministries. I will forever be grateful for this season.

This piece of art by the Polish artist, Laura Makabresku, titled “Riders of Hope,” is so powerful. As she describes it: “Above the tempestuous sea of human sorrow, pain, and solitude, someone carries a flame of Hope.” May it be this day, O God.

A great episode. ‘Audition’ has been on my bookshelf for a few months but has now jumped to the top of my TBR.

Life in 2026 is essentially just having full blown Gollum conversations with yourself about buying basic household items every single day But we mustn't But we wants the nice paper towels But we shouldn't But they tears so nicely precious

A joy this morning to celebrate Easter with two of our village communities. In one church was this beautiful apple tree, rescued from burning and loved back into life. Resplendent with blossom and ready to hold people’s prayers this morning. A wonderful symbol of resurrection life.

A wonderful service last night celebrating our student’s academic awards and ministerial faithfulness. Wonderful stories, great singing and a sense of hope and joy for the church in this place. Love that I get to be a small part of it.

The vicar walked into the pulpit like "this week's Gospel reading is the longest one of the year, and I'd love to preach on it, but apparently some idiots think they're starting a holy war to bring about the second coming of Christ so I've really got to address that right now..."

A beautiful, gentle read. ‘It was precisely those wandering sheep that he was after, sheep that had been overlooked…They certainly couldn’t be allowed to freeze or starve to death in those high places simply because no one bothered or dared to seek them out and bring them home.’

Driving to work this morning as the sun rose, painting the sky pink and orange over the frozen fields and the mist lay heavy on the stream I caught a flash of iridescent blue which danced ahead of me. My first Kingfisher. Unexpected beauty in something so small and fragile - a perfect gift.
