Today at the convent: the nuns have been teaching me to scythe.

A friend of mine once read the Geneva Convention just so that she was well versed in war crimes and could then commit as many possible during a DnD campaign.

Being a church treasurer must be an insane job because sometimes she's using our hardship find to help really vulnerable people secure housing, and sometimes she's checking receipts for bottles of wine that we're gonna turn into Jesus, and sometimes she's asking me why I've bought the church an axe.

The finding: no plastic (>1 mm) in any specimen. In marine plastic research, that's a rare and genuinely good result. It suggests pelagic elasmobranchs here may have lower plastic exposure than we'd assume, and gives us a solid baseline to track change over time.

My friend is moving house soon, and her husband had me print a load of these for everyone who's helping them, so when it gets a bit much, we can just hand one to her, and honestly? To be loved is to be known.

Jokes aside, I see people go "I think I'm trans but I'm not gonna address it because of all the difficult stuff, what would I get out of it?" And the answer is true joy. That's what you get out of it. Unless you face yourself, fully and completely, and know who you are, you will never find true joy.

And yeah you should be free to be stupid and reckless and it sucks that we aren’t and have to be careful but acknowledging it is actually a good thing to keep yourself safe None of it is fair or just or right but it is the state of things

“How dare you suggest we be careful as trans people they go after us no matter what we do” yeah because the situation is so volatile and they pounce on everything is exactly Why taking care is required. Its a call to not be reckless, not to be a model minority

Seeing people criticising this as a kind of tone policing or call for politeness and i dont think it is, to me its more dont get in trouble for something stupid, like if you are going to be in trouble have it be for something meaningful rather than foolishly saying something bloodthirsty

Apple charges people ~20% more than the Patreon list price and they keep the difference for themselves. They also hold the proceeds of iOS app sales for 75 days, making it impossible for creators to accurately predict earnings. They basically inserted themselves in order to rip *more* people off
