I did this last year and it was fantastic. Great group of people and completely safe environment to develop ideas and style. By far the most productive PhD experience I have been lucky enought to be a part of (and I got a good sleep and someone else did meals three times a day).

Great to see the Guardian champion the SHAPE (Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences) subjects, but this piece gives impression that they are expensive, whereas many are 'cheap to teach' subjects subsidising more expensive subjects, mainly in STEM and medicine. The crisis demands better understanding.
