I’ve never been wrong. I used to work in a record store.
i see we're arguing about whether air travel has gotten better or worse over the past 40 years, and as somebody who has been flying for decades, let me tell you that boy are my arms tired
five seconds later "We regret to inform you the milk is a racist"
You do not need AI to make content. I just found a TikTok account that is just a glass of milk in different locations listening to rock music. It has tens of thousands of followers.
Properly gone at the idea of having this awarded like a corporate award gigs in one of those massive but soulless business hotel ballrooms, with Romesh Ranganathan hosting.

The Archive but it's a videogame from 1998.
Currently this has 98 ratings on Amazon, and if you'd like to help push that total into three figures (especially if you'd like to write a v short review), I will not stand in your way. Particularly if you enjoyed it. Thanks. #IntoTheGroove

Nothing I’m learning about this group is disabusing me of the notion they’re funded by Putin
Leaders of flag-raising group Raise the Colours Oxfordshire placed trackers on highway workers’ cars to find out their home addresses, the High Court has heard. RTC then attempted to intimidate the highway staff into no longer removing flags by repeating their addresses to them.
A lot of fantasy authors are fantasy authors because they have a kind of nostalgia for simpler times so they see modernity and mass capitalism as kind of inherently corrupt. Tolkien also villainized industry. That doesn't make them bad people but also doesn't make their views on economics credible.
Yeah, for days people have been citing “boots theory” at me and I want to shout DO YOU REALIZE THIS IS A RANDOM IDEA TOSSED OUT BY A FANTASY WRITER AND MAY NOT ACCURATELY DESCRIBE REALITY

let's pretend: Universal announces a screenwriting contest for Jaws 5. What's your pitch?
This quote/ trope is often misattributed either as a genuine classical quotation about Alexander of Macedon, or as from the script of Die Hard (1988). It’s actually originated by darts commentator Sid Waddell, about Eric Bristol, in 1984.
I weep, for there are no more worlds to conquer.
I won’t personally exult in the death of anyone outside a dictator with literal blood on their hands, but I do find it quite weird when they tone-police how people react to polemicists dying. Big part of his oeuvre, was it, essays on showing respect for the deceased no matter what they believed?
Such beautiful gentle humour. Some ancient gags but one or two - particularly the “small town” one that made me laugh out loud
RIP Jimmy Cricket, who uploaded a lot of shows he appeared on himself, including this Bob Monkhouse Show. (They don't generally have big captions getting in the way) www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QIF...
I've just seen the cover to the Complete Trumptonshire blu-ray, and now I need you all to see it too, so there can be an outbreak of delighted cooing and "aw" noises all across Bluesky. It's done my heart the power of good, it really has.
Trying to remember one of Jimmy Cricket’s gags, was something like “my pal Tommy was killed when his finger was run over by a steamroller. He was scratching his nose at the time”
Hearing news that Jimmy Cricket has died. What a lovely man he was.
Rod Liddle was very much like Marmite, in that you wouldn’t want him on your television screen, radio, or newspaper.
Great visit to the Red Sands Forts today! (One for #DoctorWho fans who’ve seen Fury From The Deep extras)

I think we should combine philosophy BlueSky's position that "flirting can be unintentional" with the emerging Gen Z norm that "flirting outside of dating apps is immoral" to create the most neurotic generation ever before seen.
I've written up some thoughts on Emily Wilson's review of The Odyssey; a little on what she got right, a lot on what I think she missed, and why it matters. dominicdean.wordpress.com/2026/07/30/o...
On Emily Wilson, Christopher Nolan, and The Odyssey
Emily Wilson’s review of Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey for the London Review of Books has generated an enormous amount of comment, both criticising and defending Wilson. Since my own response her…
