Popping in to ask; do I know anyone attending GCX next week in Orlando? That's near my neck of the woods, and I'm wondering if it's worth grabbing a ticket to see people, or if I should pass given what looks like a big creator/fan focus

After uninstalling all social media from my phone, I'm going to make this a permanent step back from socials! I feel so much better, emotionally and creatively, and the juice isn't worth the squeeze. I'll still pop in sometimes, and you can find me through my site, or Discord as needed! 💖

In our latest interview, we had the pleasure of talking with Adrienne (@insertdisc5.com) on In Stars and Time, the upcoming visual novel game Truth Scrapper, this game will end in 205 clicks, Adrienne's favourite Kingdom Hearts game and much more! somanygames.co.uk/articles/beg...

This sort of scummy recontextualizing of facts to make them fit the narrative Google wants you to read is exactly why I was so annoyed when they renamed Google One to AI Plus; so they could say they have so many AI Plus subscribers, even if it's ACTUALLY folks whose old plan was converted/renamed.

In terms of voluntary developer uptake, they recently claimed that “over 99% of [Play developers’] apps have been registered” suggests that ADV is somehow a popular and widely-accepted dictate. That couldn’t be further from the truth: those 99% of developers were auto-opted-in without their informed consent due to being already bound by their Play Store agreements.

Excellent post on F-Droid, I urge anyone who own a phone to read this. Google has been embedding itself into android by default for years and is on the path to make it as closed as apple is doing with their iphone. f-droid.org/en/2026/07/0...

Nice to wake up this morning and check my feed at my PC and see that my decision to uninstall all social media from my phone last night was the right one. I kept Discord so I can be reachable for work items, but I'm probably going to throw an after-hours lock app on that one.

This sucks. I have so many older games that I can only play BECAUSE I have the physical disc for them. They're not legally available through any other means. This increasing shift towards only digital licenses to your things (books, movies, etc) that can be revoked or lost at any time is horrible

Everyone else is doing it, so I might as well! Here are some of my favorite Steam sale recommendations, primarily focusing on indie but with a few AAA sprinkled in! 🧵

YES! Creativity (and by extension game development) thrives by embracing constraints. One of the most valuable things I’ve learned while producing at Strange Scaffold: If the edges are clearly defined, what you make inside of them will be intentional, clever, and fulfilling.

I think it's taken me like 20 years to truly internalize why creativity thrives under constraints I used to conflate creativity with some notion of competence and the ability to realize your vision, but creativity is more about being able to find a meaningful artistic path in spite of constraints
