Been playing a little Beach Spikers for GameCube here and there. All of the product placement means this likely won't hit Switch. It'll be stuck on GameCube for eternity. Still my favorite sports game for it!

Hey everyone! I’ve been doing some journaling after my gaming sessions (inspired by exp @mathewkumar.com and @heyphilsummers.bsky.social) and I post them online for free, but I’ve also done monthly printed zines of these, because of course I would. You can get them through my Patreon!
The Legend of Zelda - Dungeon 9 - Death Mountain Death Mountain is a brutal maze full of tricks and traps. There are plenty of paths to take, but this path is your best bet. As long as you can survive it!
Castlevania 1 bosses. These were done for Hand-Drawn Gaming Issue 1 years ago. I placed cropped versions of them on the map, but this is the actual scan of the sheet I drew them on.
This is the next Mega Man project from NF Publishing. Matthew has been hard at work putting this one together. I'm looking forward to getting a copy of my own and wish the team lots of success with this one!

The Legend of Zelda - Dungeon 8 - Lion The final triforce piece rests inside this tricky dungeon. There are two special items inside, neither required but the magic key is a must.
I had some comments about my Frankencable so I figured I'd show it in action with Animal Crossing for GameCube.
In 2003 everyone made fun of this. In 2026 it's peak.
Whenever Katsuya Terada's work is making the rounds it's usually his classic game art, so here's some shots from his recently released book This and That.
Pencil sketch collage from my book 202X that represents the games I played through in 2023. Looking at this again it reminds me how much time has already passed since games like Tears of the Kingdom.
The Legend of Zelda - Dungeon 7 - Demon The dungeon most know for the hungry Goriya. Link must bring him some food to continue exploring the dungeon.
In 2003 everyone made fun of this. In 2026 it's peak.
Pages from Qvinta Essentia an art book featuring the work of Hitoshi Yoneda published in 1993. He's known for his iconic Phantasy Star and Sorcerian artwork. Some really beautiful work in here.
The Legend of Zelda - Dungeon 6 - Dragon In my opinion maybe the hardest dungeon in the game due solely to Wizzrobes. Take a potion into this one with you. "There are secrets where fairies don't live" is the player's only in game hint at the location of the 7th dungeon.
I came across my old burned Dreamcast games. My friends and I all bought Dreamcasts after they were discontinued and we passed so many burned games around. Here's what I was left with. I'm a person that loves to have real copies of games on hand, but I feel oddly nostalgic for these discs.
This take on the original Mega Man stage select screen was a fun spread to put together, though in hindsight I wish I had given each robot master their own dedicated spread/section. There's always Mega Man 2 to fix that.
Today we have something special: a newly translated interview from July 1996 between Shigeru Miyamoto and Kenji Eno! Conducted just weeks after the launch of Mario 64, Eno takes Miyamoto to task (in a friendly way) with several fascinating critiques of its design. shmuplations.com/miyamotoxeno/

I've been picking up a few art books recently. This is Reflections by Susumu Matsushita whom you'd know from Famitsu, Maximo, Adventure Island, etc. This book rocks. Glad to have added it to my small collection.
Sam Neill should have won an Oscar for this “help I’m being attacked by an invisible Chevy Chase” scene with a stupid looking plastic gun taped to the side of his head
The Legend of Zelda - Dungeon 5 - Lizard This dungeon introduces passages that take Link to a different part of the map. There is also an optional bomb bag to purchase. Finding the whistle is a requirement to defeat the boss.
Shining Force II (Sega Genesis | 1994) "Shining Force II is incredible, but heavens, do I suck at it. It is an amazing 16-bit strategy game which improves upon the original in nearly every way (unless you prefer the original game’s more streamlined approach)." [1/2]
