Russian leadership speak paternally of Odesa, but the city itself feels pain from bombing like other Ukrainian cities do. Targeting military positions, critical port infrastructure, energy substations, and bombing civilian apartment blocks. Air defense teams do what they can.
Maybe I'm a naive idealist but I think it would be good for the economy if people had enough money to Buy Things.

He upholds his commitments to his family and neighbors. He doesn’t lie, cheat, & steal his way through life. Real men serve others. Weak men serve themselves.
In Kherson, snuggled between two buildings, away from sights of the war, is an art cooperative. Here local Kherson artists are able to express themselves and display their art projects. Beautiful landscapes and social commentary on the war exist between surrealist art.

I watch a lot of ideologically diverse talk/debate shows and just can't get the appeal of Rubin. Sam Hyde, definitely. Tim Pool? Not for me but I get it. Jimmy Dore? Hates me personally but he bursts through the screen. Rubin, though? He's just stupid. I don't understand it.

Odesa is a lifeline for Ukraine's economy, which has made the city a centerpiece of Russia's air war. Moscow wants to control the city, and haven't forgotten about it.
