I have like 60+ records. But I hardly listen to them! So this is a thread about doing just that and my thoughts on each album if I have any. I got half of these from my dad when I moved to Austin circa 2013. The other half are fav albums from high school. 😜💿 Remember how great... Records are?

Remember how great...? Volume 2 collectors edition. I only recognize Mr. sandman and Tequila. But lot of classic sounds here. 6/10

work on the rulebook continues. (I have to charge my car often as we move boxes from a storage unit, so while i chill at a coffee shop i reward myself with rulebook work lol) A5 horizontal. Elseware Express is aiming to be a sandbox for folks interested in 18xx, but with less time on their hands.

I did get Elseware Express up on tabletopia btw. I'm busy moving this week to play, but if you were interested in trying Elseware Express, hop in to the Atopia Discord (link in my bio if you need) and play it with me! You don't need to be familiar with 18xx to play. (Shortens the teach tho!)

I'm done moving! Also I played #boardgames in July! Finally played solo lorcana against Ursula, and finally tried Old Kings Crown (4p), and our cabin tripped turned into a surprise mini game convention. What did you play last month? AMA. All my games are in storage for now for the move. 😭😭

If you're at #gencon now's your chance to check out the @ipr.bsky.social booth! They have a wide selection of indie RPGs, and my series MIRU is among them (along with many fantastic human made works) And if you do stop by, I love getting pictures/being tagged with hauls. Brightens my day ⭐⭐⭐

the work continued today. hoping to have this up on tabletopia by wednesday. Probably good to have games more readily available for playtesting online. The Market Board got put together. Company Boards settled in. New Player boards were just figured out. City colors are Silver and Brown now.

I'm moving. Going through things. Found this relic in the shoebox of ancient tech cables. I won a contest from @theverge.com for a moto x cover. (2013!) But, I had the wood moto x and couldn't figure how to remove it (and wood was cooler let's be honest) so I never got to use. 😭

Super interesting hobby of ours. Something goes out of print that is desired by a handful of folks, gets this kind of price reaction by a store. It was on my wishlist sure, but I'm not budging past msrp. It's just cardboard, like let's chill a bit. Wild. (I haven't beaten return of the king anyways)

A LOTR LCG expansion with an MSRP of $60 getting priced for $300!

I'm moving this week! Any @mimicpublishing.com orders starting a few hours ago will ship out next week (wed+) i've gotta put everything I own into a storage unit cause of some goofy timing with our start and end dates. lol. Thank goodness i did a game purge a few months ago. Has helped a lot.

Chat with your publisher about adding "human made" to the box. There's a chain of folks from start to finish and highlighting the lack of ai can help a lot of folks looking to avoid it. This icon pack is free and on hundreds of books now. (More board games soon!) hinokodo.itch.io/human-made

Does your game store shout out local designers? @labyrinthdc.bsky.social has always been good about this and @stickydoodler.bsky.social has been getting other DC-area stores to do it too. What else can we do to help average consumers realize/remember that games are made by humans?

Roomie invited us to a cabin this weekend. Here's a thread about it. Middle of nowhere Maine. Got there late Friday night just in time to catch the sunset on the water.

The sun is about to go to sleep.

What's one thing that makes you irrationally angry? (Funny) I'll go first. When a series gets revised, with a new box, and releases several games all at once.... And the box art doesn't all align. So silly. 😭😭😭 But you know who does it very well? Unmatched. 10/10 box sides. No notes.

Lord of the rings LCG revised series almost lines up perfectlyLook how perfect unmatched boxes are!

Happy Sunday folks. I have a UI/Game Design / Cognitive load question for you all. Say you have to move an ai character on an interconnected map. I'm trying to make something that's more interesting than keeping them on a track and just moving clockwise. What if the power of your action...

Saw a regular 10am showing of the Odyssey yesterday. Went in blind, I never read the book or looked it up. Was a pretty good ride! Very cool visuals, intense scenes throughout. I think this is a great movie to see in theaters. Just don't drink a soda. It's 3hours & Very few 5 mins of downtime.

The odyssey is about to begin on the big screen

Just watched Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't die. Great time. It's a little on the nose. And there's a lot of talking up front. But if you go for the ride, think you might like it!

2 questions for you today. 1. When a friend says 'let's play this board game' and brings it over. Do you do any prep for that? (watch a tutorial, read the rulebook? look up the game at all?) 2. When you pick the game, do you assume you're teaching? do you ask them to read or watch the rules?
