I'm finally back to designing after a spell. I'm calling this Re:Memory, and it plays sorta like reverse memory. I hope to playtest it soon.

Oh, and this gorgeous game display? Made possible by @ipr.bsky.social . We might be local game designers, but we ain't crazy. Fulfilling via hand-delivery doesn't scale, even when we're nearby (and some of us are on the other side of the Potomac)

The Designed in the DMV catalog started as a small dream: I wanted to see local designers featured in the zine section* of my local bookstore. On our way to creating that catalog, we ended up creating an event that is now PeopleCon 3. Then all of a sudden we came together as Designed in the DMV...

You voted a three-way tie, so I broke it in favor of coloring red in 3 (making it part of the flower, perhaps?). Which means purple is still in 1. Please vote in the comments! 1🟣 - fox tail 2🔵 - not fox, not flower...??? 3💿 - sky 4🟤 - under fox 🎦 youtube.com/shorts/psvZk...

So excited! My next game, Tideward, is out in January with Avalon Hill! It's an absolutely gorgeous, strategic, family-weight game that takes a light ruleset and packs a ton of strategic punch! It's even got a rotating board.😎 See me talk about it here: www.facebook.com/reel/1623187...

No seriously guys I need your votes or else I'm playing this game all alone. Where should I color next?
When I talk about the Bonsai Diary, I underline anyone can play, even people who "aren't good at drawing." (By the way, no one is bad at drawing.) But that doesn't mean you have to hold back if art is your thing! These watercolors by Ariaflore (Instagram) are just stunning. What a gift!
"Nature" is, appropriately, the results of years of iteration from "Evolution." During that time @dcrapuchettes.bsky.social has taken the game in a direction I rarely see when systems evolve: stripping away rather than adding complexity. The result is faster and more accessible than the...

The vote went to "2" so I broke symmetry and colored the top-left of the gate BROWN. That's different! Vote on where I color next! We're in the Color Jam mid game, and multiplayer is very different than solitaire! youtube.com/shorts/1pzZ9...

If sharp definitions cut off debate, then hand us blank paper to scribble on. And to make games out of.
As a game thinker, personally, I'm not interested in distinguishing games clearly from other kinds of behaviors and activities. I'm interested in finding and learning from the games that are hiding, unidentified, unrecognized, unacknowledged in the other things we do.
If this post excites you the way it excites me, you gotta come to PeopleCon 3, where Talia Rosen, designer of First Monday in October, will discuss how a tabletop game can capture the essence of the Supreme Court. (Post by @judgedillard.bsky.social from The Other Place) ⚠️ @fortcircle.bsky.social

If it's not human made, it's not art
Just heard #PaxUnplugged is going full Human Made. Proud of em, it's my favorite gaming con. And it's nice to know they'd prefer to present the works of real creative human beings. That's one less sign booths need to make, but if you'd like to anyways, here's a free icon hinokodo.itch.io/human-made
