I have my first annual mammogram today wish me luck 🍀 it’ll almost certainly be an all clear as I’ve just finished chemo last month but it’s still nightmare fuel and not least because it’s a big ouch!

This cat spends most his days trying to sneak into my house. He starts off by watching me, waiting for me to get distracted, then tries the “one paw at a time” approach and often I don’t notice. Then he eats my cat’s food and his mum posts on social media that someone is feeding their cat again.
What is rather concerning is that I just downloaded TikTok and made an account. The very first thing it suggests to me is a video from Nigel Farage. Absolutely nothing about my online history suggests I want to see that.
In honour of Dolly Parton I will not work one minute more than 9-5 for the rest of the week.
Good and bad news from mum. Good: her scan results show the treatment for her terminal cancer is working Bad: she didn’t freeze any berries for the winter because she didn’t want to jinx her chances, so now she won’t have berries this winter
I'd say "Something for nothing" culture is getting paid £100,000 a year of public money, plus expenses, for a job that you then fail to turn up to for months on end
ADHD is real, and for many, including myself, medical treatment can be effective. #ADHD
I see Channel 4 televised 'The Great ADHD Myth' last night, led by Daily Mail doctor Max Pemberton. Sigh, FFS, etc. inews.co.uk/culture/tele...
Ok I bit the bait and here's my two pence on that horrendous ADHD Myth documentary on Channel 4 last night
A Finnish sports journalist visited Birmingham for a sports event and now there’s a column in a Finnish tabloid about how awful Birmingham is. Someone go get @joelycett.bsky.social
EU citizens in UK: Reform is coming after us. They are coming after your Settled Status rights. They are driving project Brexit, they want us out. Latest polls show 25% of Britons want this too. It’s loud and clear, we are not welcome here.
Taking PIP away not only makes life harder financially for disabled people, it also means these people will be less able to manage their disability and invest in their wellbeing. It will make people more sick.
Reform guy on Today on plans on benefit cuts. He is given the credibility to talk as if Reform are going to be in government. The bbc pandering to the hard right.
So Nigel F takes a £5m bung and at most gets gently challenged by the media. Accusations are made of an academic and it is turned into a blood sport by gutter journalists who will experience no consequences for their actions.
They would do this by abolishing disability benefit and PIP and having a new benefit only for the most "severe" cases. Jenrick uses the "suicidal empathy" phrase in his quote.
This Reform press release is currently the lead story on the BBC News website
Depressing to see BBC headline treating this as if it's a serious proposition But Reform are serious about returning us to an 18th-century level of social support So many of their voters depend on the sorts of benefits they would strip away #TurkeysVoting4Christmas www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Reform UK plans to overhaul welfare system to save £50bn and replace Pip
The party's proposed changes were they to come to power include a replacement for the disability payments system Pip.

Not hard to see why Reform did not announce their plan to abolish Personal Independence Payment until *after* the by-election..
"If you aren't building your own bank robbing robot, you're going to be left behind in the new economy."
Woman on sky news saying “this is a terrible tragedy because there is someone who died who has two children and a wife”. Peoples’ lives matter even if they don’t have children.
I’m seeing many troubling takes tonight. There is always another option, no crisis so big that there is no other way. If you or someone you know is at imminent risk of suicide, call 999. Samaritans are at 116123. Sometimes life can feel unbearable. It will pass. The sun will rise tomorrow morning.
Well today's been one of those days where I may as well not have even showed up. I simply cannot focus in this heat.
Wow this is a bad result for Farage. In the most Reform friendly seat in the country should get more than this - and Binface’s result shows once again that the centre and left will vote for literally anyone to try and stop him.
Clacton By-Election Full Result: ➡️ RFM: 63.3% (+17.1) 🗑️ CBF: 26.7% (New) ⭐ REU: 1.4% (New) 🙋 Francis (Ind): 1.2% (New) 🙋 Walford (Ind): 1.1% (New) 🦊 REC: 1.0% (New) 🔴 SDP: 0.7% (New) 🙋 Pelas (Ind): 0.6% (New) 🤝 CNS: 0.5% (New) 🙋 Ingram (Ind): 0.5% (New) [1/4]
To put it another way Binface won the same % that the (very good) Britain Predicts model thought all the other main parties collectively would have got had they stood. So we can assume that had they stood Farage would have done far worse than expected based on polling/demographics.

Just sneezed in the comfort of my own living room, window open, and a second later I hear a faint shout coming from somewhere in the distance: “bless you”. Brits are so polite.
The crowds yesterday gathering to see the eclipse in Bristol saw some poor press due to poor behaviour but what I saw was loads of good amazing people offering their goggles to others to make sure we all got a glimpse of the eclipse without going blind.
Cmon clacton, prove us all that we are wrong about you. The polls have been flabbergasting to follow, you have an actual opportunity to vote against the establishment of greed and wealth today
#Clacton voters have the chance to do the funniest thing in British electoral history… or they can reelect a corrupt fraudster. Which is it to be? #ClactonByElection #BinDay #TakeOutTheTrash
This is just one case out of 2,500 in Sweden alone. The UK government can hardly be surprised about other countries taking a hardline attitude to immigration when it does exactly the same, if not worse. #BrexitReality www.theguardian.com/world/2026/a...

Authorities say application to stay was made too late, as UK officials say Sweden takes ‘stricter approach’ than other EU countries
