(1/2) My current research is on experiences of pregnancy loss in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. One of the things I am finding really heartening is the number of men openly discussing these issues.

One in four academic history positions in post-92s are gone since 2019 alone. One in four. We don't have data for 2025-6 and I doubt it magically got better.

Well here we go. End of Humanities provision at an institution that championed the value of Humanities even when it was a 1950s Tech College. CP Snow was a fan and wrote in his famous "Two Cultures" (1959) that "the intellectual life of the whole of western society" rested on Science and Humanities.
