Wow. California is considering to pass legislation that would allow people & insurance companies to recoup costs by suing fossil fuel companies. This would extend to the last resort insurance provider (the state’s coverage) too. CA would be the 1st state in the U.S. to allow for such lawsuits.
This is how it should be: Local school installs 1,600 solar panels funded, in part, by a non-profit green-bank climate fund that provides ~150 low-income homes a 20-25% utility bill reduction. The school will not use the energy; it feeds the grid & creates a bill credit to in-need residents.
