I know most bike folks already do this, but I don't think we're served well by making things cars v bike lanes. I know for a fact that the heavy bike lane infrastructure in MPLS means it's safer for everyone. It's a matter of creating an environment of safer driving and bike lanes are 1 part

Simultaneously, both Minneapolis & St. Paul have small groups of unhinged people railing against basic road construction, but using "bike lanes" as a talking point / fig leaf to obscure their retrograde inanity. The need to reconstruct streets is just a fact. No point in a tantrum. And yet...
Unsheltered homelessness is an immensely complicated challenge, and there is no easy solution here. I wish there was. As a city it’s our responsibility to approach big challenges with thought, care, and humanity. I’m going to do everything I can to ensure that’s what happens here.
For years, community members both living in and outside of the city’s encampments, along with government and nonprofit partners, have done everything possible to keep the encampments safe, sanitary, and resourced.
Ah yes… for the kids… definitely not because I, a 31 year old childless man, would be giggling with excitement watching big machinery move some dirt around while grabbing drinks at a local business. 🚜🏗️ That wouldn’t be very adult of me, it’s definitely for the kids.
