I’ve been slowly recording some raw sessions of me working on this Subway Scene (atleast from the Material side of things) it’s been fun so far making a very small scene based on a lot of reference work I took when I was in NYC earlier this year.

10 years ago I left my job as a Ride Op for The Mummy ride at Universal to join Infinity Ward on Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. That opportunity changed my life. Today I get to build games, teach, and share what I've learned. Thanks to everyone who's been part of the journey. #GameDev #GameArt

This is what happens when business and shareholders run game companies. They cut and cut with realizing they are cutting out the brain and heart of a company or in this case a company, who’s work pushes game engines to where they are today, INCLUDING, Xbox’s own Call of Duty.

You have canceled more Live Service projects this generation and really put yourself in a hole. Also why continue with making a bunch of Live Service games, that’s not viable. Every gamer has ONE live service game they choose to login continuously, not four. This isn’t like story driven games.

Sony to continue pursuing live service games despite challenges: "[...]live service games are content that attracts users on a global level, so we want to continue to revitalize the market through both 1st party & 3rd party content" said SIE president Hideaki Nishino ➡️ wccftech.com/playstation-...

Nintendo does Nintendo things. But yeah the main difference is between Nintendo versus the other two is, Nintendo top down focuses on Game Design and Fun…..AND also the fact they don’t have a blood thirty capitalist parent company always looking to widen their shareholders bottom line.

Nintendo raised the base salary for its employees "We maintain salaries at an appropriate level. We believe it is important to ensure that compensation remains at an appropriate standard. For example, we have increased pay, including raising base salaries by 10%" mynintendonews.com/2026/06/26/n...

It’s true, the fact that the bottom line for C-Suite isn’t getting them 100’s of millions and only 10’s of millions they take it out on the work force. Add to the fact that CEO’s are chasing unicorns like Fortnite to make more money and it blowing up spectacularly is also hurting us devs and artists

Between the insane console price hikes during a recession (I said it) where people can't even afford healthcare, and the jettisoning of talent and institutional knowledge in favor of AI slop and more zeroes on the shareholder paycheck, these industry "leaders" should leave. Devs are not the problem.

Just remember folks, most of the loudest people talking about using AI and AI workflows for Game Development, have no experience working on games or at Game Studios!

So UE6 is just….UE5 and UEFN combined? Also with shitty AI tools embroiled in. This miles worse than when they teased UE5 with Nanite, Lumen, World Partition, etc. Also you have the most vague updates for “making content portable” with out telling us how?

I've had quite a few people ask about mentorships lately. If I offered a few spots, what would you want to focus on? Materials, shaders, environment art, portfolios, tech art? Affordability matters, along with recordings, demos, notes, and source files. Interested? Let me know. #GameArt

It’s been a wild day today, a bit of wild news at my work and in the background hearing about what’s currently going on at Xbox, it is insane.
