most quality (leather) footwear will offer "seconds" at specific retailers. usually it's a small cosmetic defect that does not effect the quality or longevity of the product. the most reliable source ive found for redwings is sierra trading post.

the real tip is to find a decent, affordable used pair of a brand that lasts like 20 years and it's a win win. but that takes time, patience, and a certain level of skill (as well as a lot of luck) so it's a bit prohibitive. but very possible!

I was googling some dialog from a puzzle in genshin impact to identify which puzzle it is so I could find hints, and the google AI seems to think I've been in some kind of coma or cryostasis for hundreds of years? this is genuinely the weirdest one of these I've ever seen

my Google search (rough quote from a Genshin Impact puzzle) said "long has been my slumber. water and soil such drastic changes" and the AI at the top of the Google search gave..... this response.
