Really starting to think someone is trying to mess with my parents and I don't like it. The big flower pot next to their front door was on its side this morning when I went to visit them as if someone had pulled it down on purpose. I don't like that at all I'm installing a camera for them tomorrow
And for the record. I've had many years in customer service. People would ask where the milk was while standing under a marquee that said "dairy" in gigantic letters. It's just part of the job and it's much easier for everybody if you just roll with it and tell them instead of giving them sass.

People are tired or they have a brain fart. It still doesn't justify your making things SUPER WEIRD and uncomfortable by just STARING in silence as a response.

The irony in all of this is that I would have totally considered dating his old version. The current model looks like I'm about to become the subject of a new True Crime documentary if I stay in the same room with him for too long.
Not only that, but if you have any sort of ambitious bone in your body, you're basically being told you're about to join a Nazi youth organization and there's nothing much you can do about it.

When you try to explain "gaydar" to straight people and it's super hard because they don't have the lived experience to understand how we just can identify vibes like we have some sort of gay Spidey sense. But that's really just what it is.
I keep saying this. I absolutely LOATHE his approach to "social respectability at all costs". I'm not going to deny what he's contributed to the fandom prior to now. But this is a case of realizing maybe it's time to take the car keys from Grandpa and let younger family members drive him around.
