the one thing that is kinda funny is how the youths read our trends in retrospect, like calling that "millennial optimism" is a not at all an accurate description of how it was to experience it, but I absolutely see how it looks like that as a perspective into the past

This week, LGBTQ news outlets including @advocate.com and @lgbtqnation.com published misleading coverage about Senate Candidate Adam Hamilton. They quoted him condemning "bullying" of trans people, but left out that seconds after he said that, he immediately misgendered trans girls.

I don't think people understand how much of being trans is just slapping a smile on and going "oh no, that's okay!!!" when it clearly isn't. You don't have to collaborate in your own humiliation. You don't have to take one for the team. You don't have to say you're okay with anything that isn't okay
