Posted on the other website but: The power play especially killed them tonight, as did that fourth goal. You cannot allow that shot to go in, especially at a point when your team is taking over the game. It totally deflated them for the rest of the way.

Overall, that’s a nice weekend for the Penguins. Collected 3/4 points, even though they probably didn’t deserve the point on Friday. They carried the pace of play for most of the game and Silovs responded after Murashov’s great game last night. Let’s see if they build on it.

JV mistakes killed them tonight. That was the difference. 4 of the Caps' 5 goals were gifted to them off inexcusable plays. The good news is that much of this is fixable, especially the slow starts

That was a 60-minute beatdown. From the opening drop of the puck, the forecheck gave the Flyers fits, and they had no answer. Defensively, they took everything away and played a simple, crisp game. Great way to open the season for the Penguins.

So, so, so happy for Filip Hallander. Dude has worked his ass off to get back here and had a fantastic camp/preseason before making the roster. Great job to crash the net there after his great assist earlier.
