I love you all but you are incredibly (understandably) reactive. It’s making you SO easily manipulated by rage baiters. When you see something without context, a headline or a snippet of a quote, take a deep breath and look into it to see if you really should be upset. Please protect your hearts.

My ice-cold boring take that will definitely not go viral is that a primary result with a margin of victory of roughly 1 percent tells you precisely nothing about The Future Of The Party.

I know this website hates AI, as it should, but if its biggest boosters actually talked about it as a tool that could make your life easier? Might be more popular, might be more people willing to try it. Instead, they’re all telling you “lol fuck off idiot, use AI or get left behind”

My answer is LOL ROFL (dickbrain) The terminally AI-pilled can't even *imagine* some people have *never* asked stochastic parrots to cheat at their job for them.

All the people who are anti-Al or want to
slow Al progress, I have one question:
If Al disappeared tomorrow, could you
still get through an entire workday
without ChatGPT, Claude, or any other
 Al tool?

Imagine Al was suddenly banned.
Would you actually be willing to give it
 up?

AI boosters: "shut up piggies and eat our slop. Did we mention its going to destroy your jobs & end civilization? 😎" Also AI boosters: "god, why are ppl so negative on this new technology?? It must be bc they are a bunch of Luddites"

Man I hate this doomer shit. Medicine. HIV-AIDS is basically cured. Same for a myriad of ailments that were either lifelong maladies or deadly. Cars, technology, hell even though they have become a source of misery, we all carry super computers in our pockets!

Food, man. Food is so much better than it was in 1986. All of it. Poor-people food, restaurant food, fresh food, frozen food. Food is just a hell of a lot better.

air travel is one of those experiences that has gotten monotonically worse over my entire lifetime

question though: has *anything* in the last 40+ years genuinely gotten *better*?

like, there's *more* stuff, sure, but is any of it *better*?

Something I keep thinking of that may not be popular in Pittsburgh is the Steelers current ownership stinks. You see all the NFLPA and player surveys and the Steelers were damn near dead last or last in everything but coaching. This isn’t to say Mike T was perfect or hadn’t become stale, but…

Hard not to notice that Buttigieg still gets skewered for doing a couple years at McKinsey in his mid 20s during the late 00s, but the general response from most of those same ppl to Graham Platner signing up to work for Blackwater in his mid 30s--not even a decade ago!--has been one big shrug.

CyberOtters@cyberotters.bsky.social · yesterday

www.newyorker.com/news/the-pol... Why would the New Yorker do a soft focus "Platner holds uneasy mirror up to America's veteran problem" while ignoring his PMC time? Seems like an important piece of his puzzle not shared by the vast, vast majority of the combat veteran community.

"What if we can appeal to MAHA voters with some anti-corporate boilerplate" is the 2020s version of "what if we can appeal to anti-abortion voters by saying that expanding access to contraception will reduce abortions." It's a great strategy if you ignore everything they actually believe

“It’s not a fight between left and right, it’s between top and bottom. Which is why I met with a bunch of plague cultists for the most powerful man in the entire world.”

The problem with the MLB salary cap discourse right now is that there isn’t really a wrong or correct answer. Yes, your Yankees, Dodgers, etc…both have unlimited money and want to win while your Pirates, Marlins, etc…just want to make money. The entire economic system, top to bottom, is broken.
