Yesterday I came across the apparently sincere argument that the ethical way to consume porn is to not pay for it because then you’re not contributing to the financial exploitation of those poor women and I just can’t.

What if everything you were taught about being a woman after 40 was backwards? What if this chapter isn’t about holding onto who you were, but getting curious about what’s available to you now? That’s part of what we’re exploring at SECOND SPRING 📅 Sept 28–Oct 2 📍 Online

A trans man in the UK has been banned in the workplace restrooms after he was forced to use the women's restrooms to comply with the new EHRC guidance. The women complained because he is visibly male and so they told him he can't use any bathroom.

A screenshot of a Reddit post from the r/LegalAdviceUK subreddit by user Dijstraanon, titled "FtM transgender facing two different issues at work? England."
The post text reads:
"Brother in law is trans FtM and presents fully as a man. He's now facing an impossible situation at work with his employer telling him that due to recent legislation he must use the toilet of his birth gender. BUT several female colleagues have raised a grievance about him using their gendered toilet.
His employer has told him that he cannot use the toilet while he is at work until they sort it out and cannot give him a timeframe to do so. They do [cut off] have disabled separate toilets.
In the mean time one of his female colleagues has accused him of sexual harassment because he was used their gendered toilet. His menstrual cycle meant he needed to use the toilet.
He's been with the employer for just over 5 years but only in this location for 18 months. The location is mainly male with just a handful of females, and his workshop only has male toilets.
I do not know how to support him and as he's not in a union there is no one to turn too right now."
The post has an orange "Comments Moderated" tag, 169 upvotes, and 134 comments.

It’s taken me this many years to figure out why I’m somewhat uncomfortable with guilt- (and punishment-) based humiliation play. If I’ve wronged you or others, then you’re rightfully upset about it. And I generally prefer emotional sadism that comes from joy, not from anger.

Shame is one of the most destructive forces in the BDSM community. Work on a positive relationship with yourself and your kinks so that shame doesn’t become a toxic force in your D/s relationships.

1908: the Lancet, one of the most respected scientific journals, calls for 18 age limit on reading in bed amidst a moral panic surrounding children becoming "addicted" to novels, which were "designed to keep kids hooked" and destroy their attention/mental health

Here’s a splash of cold water: 90% of the time when kinksters complain about being treated like kink dispensers, it’s actually a mismatch in expectations or a two-way communication failure. Don’t get all high and mighty. Take personal responsibility and talk about it like an adult.

@nytimes.com I’m disappointed by your opinion video today about ultraprocessed foods. It’s alarmist, anti-science, and insensitive to the economic realities of most Americans who are struggling with rising prices. I’d like to see more science, more inclusivity, and less fearmongering. Do better.

I’m ardently supportive of (non-trafficked) sex work. Putting women down unironically as whorelike and therefore trashy isn’t a feminist or high-class flex. I don’t have anything against whores. I support whores. I support women getting to make their own life choices without societal shaming.
