inbetweeners co-creator but actually also loads of other stuff thanks very much. i also bang on about QPR a lot. too much?

in 1998 i was in Bordeaux for the Scotland vs Norway match. I've seen some drunk people in my life, but i've never seen so many people so drunk. And not a whiff of aggro. (but a strong whiff of piss).

This "Karen Bass" is in charge of the LAPD is the same bullshit they pulled with Harris. Harris being "top cop" when she was a lawyer and not in charge of the LAPD or any city or county PD in CA. You all just hate Black women in power.

The "hydration break" really is a perfect American capitalist innovation: a nakedly commercial play to insert more ad revenue into a game that doesn't have ads anywhere else in the world, all under the guise of some humanitarian interest in the players' wellbeing.

went to NZ/Aotearoa vs Iran. Probably 60k Iranians there who were insanely loud, passionate, cheered the team, booed the national anthem, booed the coach, flags including the lion and sun and one saying '168'. fascinating to chat to, lovely to my kids. even the US and Fifa can't ruin the World Cup.

the MLS is the worst quality offering in US sport, and deliberately so. people in the US are desperate for local football teams, and want high quality football, but they will take what they can get, and the owners are quite happy to give them dross whilst pocketing their money.

i would say this man has probably never seen an MLS match and maybe never even a football match judging from his comments. "There’s only one Messi, but when you have a proliferation of that level of player across 30 teams the sky is the limit". www.theguardian.com/football/202...

Also i have read Moby Dick, and liked it, but if ever there was a book that needed an abridged version it's that. amazing first 150 pages or so, great ending, and in the middle 300 pages of author's notes about whales which are hilarioulsy wrong.
