Also… if lovely little Bash is gone I will be so sad… he’s bringing such giddy kipper energy to the castle that they need to keep in there #thetraitors #giddykipper

If I was in The Traitors and was indeed a Traitor… Blunt would be out… just for that bloody obvious briefing as the task started! #thetraitors
Hannah must be soooo annoyed that she can’t run her experiment now! #thetraitorsuk #celebritytraitorsuk
29 people have been in The Three Degrees… that means there are 3,654 different possible line ups of The Three Degrees… Do with that information what you will.
The Formica Wife skids around the kitchen, whipping up yet another batch of “good honest British dinners”. All the while dreaming of herbs and spices denied from her larder.
Sorry that the England team lost… I had a lovely evening not watching the match sat in the garden, gently crafting.
Also.. coming from an Improv background I love unintentional typos that give you a whole new bit to play with... in one of my previous posts on here I typed Coroner Shop instead of Corner Shop... that's a decent bit to write a little thing about and no mistake.
I was chatting with an author the other day about character names and how hard they are... You want them to sound interesting and perhaps give a hint of who they might be but also you don't want them to go full restoration Comedy Lord Fannysnatcher and Lady Comely-by-Nature
The book I started reading today was much better, even just 30 pages in I know it's not going to suddenly spring an orphan with a destiny on to me. Or a bloody awful character name Like Lillett or Transom.
I truly hate chosen one narratives. It lazy, it gives you as a writer a get out of jail card free card to keep your boy (and it’s always a fucking boy isn’t it?) central to the story without having to work too hard to do so…
One for sorrow, Two for joy, Three for a girl, Four for a boy, Five for silver, Six for gold, Seven for a secret never to be told.
Nearly Great Moments in History. Issac Newton gets hit on the head by a satsuma. Washington gets halfway across the Delaware and forgets why he was going to the other side. A Wooden Hearse is left outside the gates of Troy Prince Albert absentmindedly puts a magnet in his trouser pocket.
@gralefrit.bsky.social I'm on my first full relisten to Broken Veil and just have to say how blown away by it I am. The writing and performances are great across the board (I'm usually good at catching well known voices when I hear them but was very surprised when I heard the cast list...
todays writing thing... new proverbs Never tilt your cap at a statue, it just embarrasses you both. Give a cornishman a fiver and you'll get to sniff his Pasty. There's always a pin for a difficult Whelk. Tap on glass, kiss my arse. A burp is just a premature fart. Polite company often isn't
The wanderer “This place is very ridiculous indeed!” I heard myself say it and immediately thought, you sound like a petulant Victorian child in a gingham dress! And who knows? I might be just that. Well, no. I’m not. No gingham here just a sort of grey jumpsuit thing.
Musical meme on a word based platform. You never pulsate erotically, You never put alfalfa in a vindaloo You never sang songs with Bassey, Or did anything classy, You never took a chipmunk into Timbuktu.
Flag That tattered flag, Hanging from a lamp post, The ultimate symbol of who you are. An empty provocative gesture, made in haste, And then discarded. Left to rot and rag in the wind and rain, And for someone else to clear up.
So, I'm making myself do some writing again.. I have been trying to write a larger piece but it has fallen off a little due to work and other stuff. I think I just have to give it some room to breathe and stretch my writing muscle in another direction for a bit.
The Finger “Don’t pick it up, It’s nasty!” Terry was quite a germaphobe and Laurie knew it, sometime he would gross him out on purpose, show him a popped and oozing zit and ask if he wanted to squeeze....
Sycamore Hare Nan Whitlock sat at the window of her bungalow. Outside, the bodies gyrated and wheeled along the street. The whole village was out there, dancing up a storm. 1/
Words on a Summers Day Sometimes all you need to do is just sit in the garden and listen to the birds happily chatter from tree to tree. To relax into a summer's day and the fresh green smell of hasty lawn trimming from three doors up. 1/10
Here’s the thing… I don’t believe that it would now be possible to “cancel” Doctor Who… sure the BBC might not be actively making the program at the moment (or more accurately have one currently commissioned). But it has now so much cultural magnetism it will very definitely return in some form.
Went to see Dropout Improv live last night… great show, good improvisers, good games (on the whole). Short form show that absolutely delivered on it’s promise.
Slightly ruin a song title. Thus; Ambling up that hill.
Slightly ruin a song title. Thus: I May Always Love You
I don’t have recurring dreams but I do have recurring places in dreams… last night it was a hotel I often dream about… not a real place I’ve ever been, in fact not a place that could exist really. It has many notable features one of which is The Bathroom
